A clear plastic with the handwritten name, “Stephen Freeman,” in big green letters on a clear plastic bag and the same name in typed letters printed on a medical wristband led police to the suspect in the 2022 slaying of a Roseville woman.

Roseville Police Detective Sgt. Eric Saddler testified Monday at Stephen Freeman’s first-degree murder trial that he found the plastic bag inside a blue duffle bag in a parking lot next to a cinder block wall of the business, Michigan Duplicating Co., located two doors south of the Utica Road apartment of Gabriele Seitz, 62, where prosecutors say Freeman killed her.
