The NYPD on Tuesday released surveillance images of the gunman wanted for shooting a 21-year-old woman to death as he chased her into her Queens home — and asked the public’s help identifying him.

The killer clearly targeted Dashanna Donovan when he shot her last Friday, police said, though the motive is not yet clear.

“He had a motive,” Donovan’s mother , Helena Hypolite, told the Daily News Sunday. “He knew why. He knew what he was doing.”

Dashanna had just finished her shift at McDonald’s and had already put the keys in the back door of her East Elmhurst home on 96th St. near Astoria Blvd. when the gunman came up on her. Donovan, who had stopped to talk to a friend, then tried to find safety as she dashed inside.
