Jury deliberations continue Tuesday in the trial of a man accused in the stray bullet killing of a woman in Baltimore’s Federal Hill neighborhood.

Cameran Holt, 19, died nearly two weeks after she was caught in the crossfire of an Oct. 27 shootout in the unit block of West Hamburg Street. Holt was sitting in a parked car when she was shot.

Alexis Cancel-Soto, 20, is one of three men charged with first-degree murder in the case. The lawyer for Soto offered a different interpretation of the evidence.

“There is no evidence he fired the shot that hit and killed Miss Holt,” the lawyer said. “They were friends. He’d never shoot at her car on purpose.”

The jury got the case late Thursday afternoon after hearing closing arguments. No gun was ever recovered from Soto.
