The New Orleans Saints fell to the San Francisco 49ers 26-21 on Sunday in Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season, dropping to 0-2 on the year.

The breakout player from the Saints’ loss to the 49ers took advantage of his opportunity: DE Chris Rumph II.

The 26-year-old edge rusher signed a one-year deal with New Orleans earlier this offseason, reuniting with former Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley, now the Saints’ defensive coordinator.

On Sunday, Rumph earned a team-high 80.2 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, finishing with two stops, one tackle and a strip sack while posting an 88.6 pass-rush grade.
