GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Cordell Finch is a world champion. The Bay Port alum claiming men’s 110 meter hurdles title at the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan on Tuesday.

Tinch besting Orlando Bennett an Tyler Mason of Jamaica with a time of 12.99 seconds.

The Green Bay native narrowly missed the Olympic squad by one spot last year, and came back to make his first world final this year.

Ultimately winning the race to the finish line.

Tinch garnered national recognition after reaching the world championships two years ago. The Green Bay native at one point giving up track for three years, and worked as a cell phone salesman back home.

Eventually he returned to the track at Pittsburgh State and found his calling yet again.
