Fall is closing in — the season officially beings Sept. 22, but forecasters disagree on whether this year will see wetter or drier conditions.

According to The Old Farmer's Almanac and the Farmers' Almanac , this week's spell of 70- to 80-degree weather may be summer's big goodbye before cooler temperatures move in.

The cooler air is expected set in (and stay) by late September, and snow may even fall in late October, according to the Farmers' Almanac.

On the other hand, seasonal outlooks from the National Weather Service , predict overall warmer temperatures for Michigan's Lower Peninsula, as well as normal precipitation across the state.
