ALLEN PARK -- With the Detroit Lions boasting a crowded wide receiver room, Dominic Lovett understood his path to the 53-man roster would run through special teams.

Despite a limited showing during this year’s highly competitive training camp, the former Georgia Bulldog did enough to flash in the Week 3 preseason matchup against the Miami Dolphins. He caught two of his three targets and recovered a fumble on special teams, helping secure his spot.
