Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a hate crime following an Aberdeen protest.

The incident happened on Thursday (September 11) on Farmers Hall Lane in the Rosemount area of the city.

A number of protests took place across the country outside hotels housing asylum seekers, with demonstration and counter-demonstrations in Aberdeen.

Police Scotland has since confirmed that two men, aged 26 and 40, have been arrested and charged. They are due to appear in court at a later date.

"Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a hate crime following a protest on Farmers Hall Lane, in Aberdeen on Thursday, 11 September, 2025.

"The men, aged 26 and 40, have been released on an undertaking and will appear in court at a later date."
