FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - One of three teenagers linked to the 2022 homicide of a 16-year-old girl was sentenced Tuesday.
A judge in Allen Superior Court handed Jalayah Brown six years in prison.
On July 6, 2022, Le’Brishia Hobbs was found in the backyard of her Fort Wayne home about eight hours after being shot in the head, and the wounds left her in a coma for about a month before she died.
Brown was 16 years old when she was accused in the murder alongside two other teenagers, Elaysha Underwood and Raymond Washington III. The group was accused of coming up with a plan to rob Hobbs of her phone because they thought it may have had intimate photos or videos of Brown and Underwood, according to details revealed in court documents.
