BERKELEY, Calif. - A driver struck at least three people Tuesday morning near the campus of UC Berkeley in a dramatic hit-and-run, visual evidence and an eyewitness said.

The person, who asked to remain anonymous, said that the driver of a grey BMW 52I hit a man in his 30s walking his dog and dragged him for at least a block, and then looped back, rammed another car, jumped the sidewalk and hit a man on a bicycle.

Then, another woman was hit and cracked her head on the pavement, the eyewitness said.

And the driver took off, the eyewitness said, but was later taken into custody.

The mangled bike was left at the scene and the BMW with a cracked window was left several blocks from the first hit-and-run.
