GRAY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Top masons from the region will compete in the annual "Spec Mix Bricklayer 500" at the Appalachian Fairgrounds on Sept. 18 to find out who is East Tennessee's Best Bricklayer.
The bricklaying competition is designed to test the speed, skill and stamina of participants by challenging them to build the highest and best 26-foot-long brick wall in one hour, with as few craftsmanship errors as possible, according to a news release from Spec Mix.
The mason with the highest brick count at the end of judging will earn a roster spot at the 2026 World Championship in Las Vegas.
