Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) got into a heated exchange with FBI Director Kash Patel, telling the leader he expects President Trump will soon boot him from the job.
Booker blasted Patel for widespread firings of the bureau's career staff, gutting leadership and crime-fighting expertise, telling him, “I believe you’re failing.”
The comments come during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing and as Patel faces GOP criticism over his leadership of the FBI in the wake of the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
“Because of your failures of leadership, I don't think you're fit to lead the bureau. Here's the thing, Mr. Patel, I think you're not going to be around long. I think this might be your last full oversight hearing," Booker said. "Because as much as you supplicate yourself
