American actor, producer and director Charles Robert Redford Jr. died on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at his home in Utah at 89 years old.

Redford was known for his classic films like "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid" and "The Sting," as well as for being a founder of the Sundance Film Festival and a dedicated activist.

Throughout his career , Redford received numerous accolades, including an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, two Golden Globe Awards, the Cecil B. DeMille Award in 1994 and many more.
