The 70-year-old Tabernacle Rescue Squad has less than 60 days before it shuts its doors, despite the outcry of township residents Monday night at a meeting.

“Tonight was yet another strong showing from our community as they called for our committee to keep the providers of the Tabernacle Rescue Squad,” the rescue squad posted on social media .

“While tonight did not result in the committee rescinding the termination and eviction notice to our organization that will effectively end our service in 56 days, they have offered to continue the conversations begun tonight next Monday at their next township meeting. We look forward to that conversation ,” according to the post.

The next public meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Tabernacle Fire Department at 76 Hawkin Road on Sept. 22.
