The Vancouver school district and its education support professionals union reached a tentative contract agreement Monday.
The union announced the agreement in a news release, and the district sent staff and families a message about 9 p.m. Monday. Education support professionals will vote on the contract Oct. 1. Details of the agreement have not been released.
“We are pleased to have an agreement we can bring to our members for a vote,” union President Chipo Sowards, who is a media clerk at Hudson’s Bay High and Lincoln Elementary schools, said in the news release. “Our bargaining team believes this is a fair, solutions-based deal.”
If the union ratifies the agreement, the Vancouver school board will vote to approve it Oct. 14, according to the district’s message.
