Teacher Elena Bardin had a special spot for a 17-year-old student being held at a Kentucky juvenile detention centre.
So special, that Bardin, 27, carried on a months-long sexual affair with the boy behind bars. She was convicted of one count each of first-degree sexual abuse, unlawful transaction with a minor and distribution of obscene material to a minor.
Jurors recommended consecutive sentences that would send Bardin away for 14 years, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported. She was acquitted of the more serious charge of solicitation to commit murder.
Prosecutors argued that Bardin didn’t just have sex with the boy, she discussed with her young paramour her wish to see her husband dead. She wanted the boy or one of his pals to ice the unsuspecting hubby back in Louisville.
