INDIANAPOLIS — An man was sentenced after robbing various Dollar General stores across Indianapolis .

Robert Williams, 57, was sentenced to 29 years in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to six counts of interference with commerce by robbery, three counts of brandishing a firearm in relation to a crime of violence and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Williams robbed four different Dollar General locations between July 8-Aug. 14 2023, according to the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). Williams committed a total of six robberies at these locations, and ended up stealing $1,799.

He would flash a revolver or handgun in each robbery to intimidate the employees, the DOJ said.
