Springfield council delays vote on setting minimum apartment sizes

SPRINGFIELD — The City Council put off voting on a proposal until October to set minimum sizes for apartments to give time for the Law Department to complete its review of the ordinance.

The ordinance calls for the City Council to set a minimum size of 500 square feet for one-bedroom apartments. It includes a waiver process, so developers can still build smaller apartments.
