BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Brownsville Police Department confirmed shots were fired in front of the police station parking lot.
At approximately 1:08 p.m., a victim and her partner arrived at the police station to file a report against a suspect.
While they were in front of the parking lot, the suspect, who was in an unknown vehicle to the victim, shot in their direction, according to a news release from the Brownsville Police Department.
Immediately following the gunshots, the suspect turned the firearm on himself, authorities say.
The victim and her partner were not injured during the time of the incident, and there is no ongoing threat to the community or the surrounding area.
