There aren’t any realistic personnel changes Mike Tomlin can or is inclined to make after just two games, but he isn’t going to stand for a mental mistake that was one of two defining moments in the Steelers’ home loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

And it involves one of his highly touted draft choices.

Rookie Kaleb Johnson will be replaced as one of the kick returners after he failed to recover a kickoff that the Seahawks pounced on in the end zone for a touchdown in their 31-17 victory at Acrisure Stadium.

The mental gaffe may have been the determining factor to replace the third-round draft choice from Iowa, but Johnson had not exactly provided a spark in the role, anyway. He averaged 23.8 yards on eight returns and never had a return longer than 29 yards.
