EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – A Granite City, Illinois, man is accused of making threats during a court appearance in Madison County.

On Sept. 10, Eric Blumenstock appeared in Madison County Circuit Court on a misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct.

According to charging documents, Blumenstock said in court that he would shoot up the Madison County Courthouse and also threatened to take the life of an officer at the court.

The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Blumenstock, 37, with making a terrorist threat and threatening a public official. He remains in custody at the Madison County Jail.
