Honolulu firefighters on Monday evening rescued a hiker that had fallen about 30 feet along a trail in the Peacock Flats area of Oahu’s North Shore.

The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a 911 call at 7:04 p.m. reporting a man in his 30s had fallen while hiking near the popular Peacock Flats campsite in the Mokuleia Forest Reserve. Seven units with 19 personnel responded, with the first unit arriving at 7:27 p.m.

HFD’s Air 1 helicopter located the hiker at about 8 p.m., and after a medical assessment, airlifted the man to a nearby landing zone where care was transferred to Emergency Medical Services at 8:36 p.m.
