A former Akron Beacon Journal cartoonist is defending a political cartoon about the death of Charlie Kirk that he posted online, which was subsequently picked up by some newspapers.

The cartoon found on Chip Bok's Bokbuster page on the internet depicts a tent with the words "Charlie Kirk" and "Prove Me Wrong" on the tent flaps with an empty chair with blood spatters behind a desk that says Turning Point USA.

The editorial cartoon has drawn criticism from some and has even prompted apologies from some publications that picked up the work.

Long Island newspaper Newsday printed the cartoon in its Saturday edition and by the next day issued an apology,
