Mayor Brandon Johnson stopped by the WBEZ studio Tuesday morning for another round of “Ask the Mayor” with Sasha-Ann Simons, now leading her new morning show, “In the Loop.”

Johnson began by discussing President Donald Trump’s recent immigration enforcement, dubbed “Operation Midway Blitz.” The mayor said he’s “going to use every single tool at my disposal to protect every single resident of this city,” including courts, executive orders and protests.

He added there is a lack of transparency from the federal government, which is not working with local law enforcement, and called for an investigation into a fatal shooting by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent in suburban Franklin Park.
