TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — The all-clear has been given after a Tempe government building was briefly evacuated due to a bomb threat on Tuesday morning.

Around 10 a.m., police say a man walked into Tempe PD headquarters on 5th Street near Mill Avenue, claiming there was an explosive in his backpack. The building, which also houses the Tempe Municipal Court, was evacuated, and 5th Street was closed between Mill and Forest avenues.

Tempe PD’s Explosive Ordnance Unit responded and determined there was no threat. Police say the man who made the threat was taken into custody, and normal operations have resumed.

The suspect’s name has not yet been released.
