Growing 3100 hectares of predominantly Pioneer 428R and 429T canola , along with wheat, barley and some faba beans, Cam Swann said timely rainfall was keeping the crops ticking along.

Mr Swann, who farms with wife Caz and parents Geoff and Faye, said they invested in the seeder to chase moisture and increase weed control with the narrow rows.

He said this was the fourth year using the seeder but this season was the first they had seen a real difference.
