Wuollet Bakery's final location has gone dark.

The Minnesota Star Tribune reported Tuesday that the Uptown Minneapolis bakery at 822 West Lake Street is closed, marking the end of an era for the local bakery chain that's operated in the Twin Cities for decades.

It's been reported by Axios Twin Cities that the business had its final day last week and closed without any official announcement.

Wuollet Bakery originated in Wayzata in 1944 and took the Wuollet name in 1991 when members of the Wuollet family purchased the then-Olson's Bakery, according to Wazyata.com.

Eviction shuttered the Wayzata bakery in April 2024 after the landlord filed a lawsuit alleging the business, which the Wuollet family sold to Eric Shogren in 2019, owed over $8,000 in unpaid rent.
