SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - The City of Shreveport’s Department of Water and Sewerage has issued a voluntary boil advisory as of September 16.

This is because of damage to a 6-inch water main line in the 9000 block of Kingston Road.

The boil advisory is in effect for all residents and businesses located south of LA-3132, between I-49 and Dean Road.

Although water service has not been interrupted, out of an abundance of caution, the Department of Water and Sewerage recommends that all water customers in the affected area voluntarily boil their water before consumption until further notice.

Residents are advised to boil water for one full minute before using it for:

• Drinking

• Preparing food

• Making ice

• Brushing teeth

• Washing fruits and vegetables
