SUN CITY WEST, AZ (AZFamily) — One person is dead and another is badly injured after they were shot at a West Valley independent living community on Monday afternoon.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies responded to the reported double shooting at Grandview Terrace near Meeker Boulevard and the US 60 in Sun City West.

When deputies arrived, they found two people with gunshot injuries. One person was dead at the scene, and the other person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, according to MCSO.

Homicide detectives have responded to investigate what led to this shooting. No suspect information has been provided.

The person who died has not yet been publicly identified.
