LAUGHLIN — A new video on YouTube offers a chance for people who may not have the ability to hike nearly a mile through the desert to experience the ancient Native American petroglyphs covering the basalt rocks at the mouth of Grapevine Canyon northwest of Laughlin.

The seven-minute video created by longtime local resident John DelQuadro features a drone flight from the parking lot up the stream bed to the spot where hundreds of symbols were pecked into the rock by the ancestors of the Mojave people. A Laughlin school teacher for nearly three decades and a deacon in charge of education at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Bullhead City, DelQuadro expanded his commitment to educating the community about the region’s unique past. ×
