PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — Prince George’s County shuts down plans to build a data center at the Landover Mall site. At least for now.

Councilmember Shayla Adams-Stafford helped introduce a resolution to put a six-month hold on the approval process for the project after ongoing community pushback.

County Executive Aisha Braveboy also issued an Executive Order to put a hold on approving data centers in the county.

Advocates have called on County leadership to stop the data center from being built due to environmental concerns and its long-term impact on surrounding neighborhoods.

Taylor Frazier spoke in front of the council on Tuesday, thanking them for the resolution.
