A man from Mississippi was arrested after he allegedly tried to rob a woman of a tea she had just bought from a store in a Chino Hills mall.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department issued a release late Tuesday morning indicating a woman was walking down a breezeway at The Shoppes at Chino Hills – located at 13920 City Center Drive – just before 2 p.m. on Monday.
As she was walking, a male suspect approached her, brandished a knife and demanded she give him the tea that she had just bought.
“In fear, the victim threw the tea at the suspect, ran and called 911,” SBSD said.
Chino Hills Station deputies responded to the mall and detained the suspect, Mississippi resident Rashawn Lee. Deputies did not disclose where exactly in Mississippi Lee hails from.
