ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Tuesday marks National Voter Registration Day, with the League of Women Voters actively assisting residents in registering for the upcoming primary election at multiple locations in Rockford.

The League of Women Voters was stationed at the Rockford Board of Elections, Winnebago County Clerk's Office, and Boone County Clerk's Office to help people register to vote.

National Voter Registration Day has been celebrated since 2012, and since its inception, over six million people have registered to vote on this day.

Ann Castro, 91, who first voted in 1960, has been recognized as the longest consistent voter in Boone County.
