BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Upgraded cameras, new weapon detectors, and additional SROs are just some, like the weapon detectors are now in place at all Iberville Parish Schools.

“Anywhere from what would be the White House to the Vatican, they’re responsible for the security there, so they were just able to bring something to the schools that would help out and do the same thing,” explains Iberville Parish School Security Coordinator James Barker.

It’s part of Superintendent Louis Voiron’s major security upgrades this year.

“We’re always going to continue researching and continue looking for better technologies, more efficient technologies,” said Voiron. “I certainly don’t want to see any type of tragedy under my watch.”
