MORIARTY, N.M. —
An investigation is underway after a fatal plane crash in Moriarty.
There were two people aboard the plane and one died at the crash site, according to the Moriarty Fire Department. The other person was transported to a hospital and their condition is unknown.
Moriarty fire said the crash appeared to be due to an engine failure. Power lines and poles were down in a field where the plane crashed.
The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified of the deadly plane crash.
No other injuries were reported. It happened in the area of McNabb Road and Highway 41 around noon Tuesday, Sept. 16.
