The decomposing body found in a Tesla registered to singer D4vd was a 14- or 15-year-old girl, police said Tuesday.

Los Angeles police said they have identified the girl but are not releasing her name until they notify her next of kin, TMZ reported. Investigators have identified the victim within the past 24 hours.

The girl was identified through forensics , according to KNBC. Police are now working to locate her next of kin before releasing her identity.

Police discovered the girl’s body in a Los Angeles tow yard on Sept. 8, when they were alerted to a foul odor coming from the trunk of the Tesla. The car was impounded after it was abandoned in the Hollywood Hills, cops said.
