Travelers on I-5 in Eugene should expect nighttime road work through Sept. 18 as crews repair two bridges over the highway.

Repairs to expansion joints on I-5 north of the Beltline at milepost 196 will close one lane each night from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., beginning in the slow lane and then switching to the fast lane. Construction began Sept. 15 and is scheduled to finish Thursday.

Drivers should prepare to slow down or change lanes for the safety of workers. In Oregon, fines double in work zones, regardless of whether workers and signs are present.
