WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- New details have been released in the case against a woman accused of killing a Wichita mother and daughter in a crash in east Wichita.
Clowie McLaughlin, 80, is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence. Investigators say McLaughlin’s vehicle struck the car driven by 42-year-old LaShea Bell on Aug. 30. Bell and her 25-year-old daughter, A’Niah, were both killed in the crash.
Now, court records provide new details about what led up to the crash at Central and Webb Road. According to the charging affidavit, McLaughin reportedly stated to emergency personnel that she had been out to dinner and had consumed a bottle of wine afterward with a friend.
