SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - There’s been a lot of talk about redistricting, even here in Indiana.
There are efforts underway to potentially gerrymander areas across the state, including District 1, which means Rep. Frank Mrvan could be moved out of the northwest Indiana district.
WNDU’s Joshua Short sat down with Gov. Mike Braun (R-Indiana) for a wide-ranging interview, including his thoughts on redistricting and whether he’ll call a special session in November to redraw congressional boundaries.
JOSHUA SHORT : You said last month you’d lean on the will of the legislature in order to push forward the president’s goal for mid-decade redistricting here in Indiana. Why not wait five more years?
GOV. MIKE BRAUN : I think in this case it’s a situation of states that are losing population.
