POTOSI, Mo. (First Alert 4) - An inmate at the Potosi Correctional Center died on Monday afternoon.
The Department of Corrections said that 65-year-old Richard Allbritton was pronounced dead just before 4 p.m.
Allbritton was serving a life sentence for forcible rape, forcible sodomy, attempted forcible rape, first-degree burglary, exhibiting a deadly weapon from Perry County, two counts of failure to register as a sex offender, unlawful use of a weapon, and resisting/interfering with arrest for a felony from Bollinger County. He was brought to the Department of Corrections in April of 1982.
His cause of death has not been released. Authorities said an autopsy will be conducted.
