NEW HOPE, Minn. — A Minnesota Senator who has been serving in the legislature for four decades is readying to retire.

Sen. Ann Rest (DFL-New Hope) was first elected to the Minnesota House in 1984. In 2000, she was elected to the State Senate. She has served eight terms in each chamber.

"Serving in the Minnesota State Legislature for more than 40 years has been the honor of my life, and it will continue to be until my current term ends next year.
