Eduardo Machado, the suspect accused of shooting and killing Edgewater Police Officer David Jewell in a "targeted assassination," was denied bond. He's charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Jewell on Sept. 15, 2025, who was waiting inside a Circle K to pay for a hot dog, officials said. Machado is accused of firing several shots at Jewell at point-blank range. A public defender asked the judge to consider a $1M bond for Machado. The judge denied that request and denied bond.
