A detention services officer with the Guilford County Sheriff's Office turned himself in last week after a warrant was issued for his arrest for an alleged assault.

According to the Guilford County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened on August 23 when 42-year-old Chase Douglas Dixon was "working private security at a bar in Greensboro during his personal time." According to his arrest warrant, Dixon allegedly struck another man in the back of the head with a sharp object, causing an injury to the man's face that required stitches.

Dixon has been suspended without pay pending an internal investigation, the Sheriff's Office says.
