WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Department of Justice on Tuesday sued the states of Oregon and Maine over what it described as their failure to provide information regarding voter list maintenance procedures and electronic copies of statewide voter registration lists.
The department said in a statement that the two states had violated the National Voter Registration Act, the Help America Vote Act and the Civil Rights.
