Georgia football (3-0) redshirt junior quarterback Gunner Stockton will be spending his off weekend celebrating at his high school alma mater.

Rabun County (4-0) announced on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 16, that the program would be retiring Stockton's No. 14 jersey ahead of its homecoming matchup against Banks County (0-4).

"He's very deserving," said Rabun County coach Rance Gillespie, who didn't coach Stockton but is familiar with the Bulldogs' starting quarterback . "He's one of the most decorated quarterbacks in the state of Georgia as a high school player and his career his continuing on with the University of Georgia and we're extremely proud of him, both for the accomplishments that he's made and what he's doing now."
