INDIANAPOLIS — A Marion County magistrate has denied a reduced bond for a father charged with neglect .
Leon’ta Anderson’s two-year-old daughter shot and killed herself with his gun. The mother calls the charge against Anderson malicious and says the case is tearing her family apart.
Anderson, 23, asked the judge to reduce his bond to $8,000, an amount he said his family could raise to get him out of jail while awaiting trial.
Anderson is charged with neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
Court records say his 2-year-old daughter, Harmony Anderson, found her father's gun on top of a shoe rack and was shot and killed July 11 in their home on Ralston Avenue.
