TRINITY, N.C. — A Triad teacher is out of a job after posts about the killing of political figure, Charlie Kirk.
WFMY News 2 confirmed that former Wheatmore High School teacher Heidi Varner is no longer employed with Randolph County Schools after resigning september 14th. The district declined to say why, but the move came after social media posts surfaced following Kirk’s assassination.
The fallout follows a similar case at Guilford Technical Community College, which fired part-time instructor Lisa Greenlee a few days ago after a video allegedly showed her making remarks about Kirk’s death.
Across the Carolinas, several Clemson University faculty members also lost their jobs over online comments tied to the high-profile case.
