SHELBYVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - Shelby Electric Cooperative donated $20,000 to three area organizations, according to a statement from the co-op.

The Christian County YMCA and Moweaqua in Motion each received $9,500. The Shelbyville Silk Purse was awarded $1,000.

The donations are possible through CoBank's sharing success program, according to the co-op.

“Through CoBank's Sharing Success program, we've contributed just under $200,000 since its inception to area organizations to support local causes," said Shelby Electric Member Services Specialist Faith Wheeler. "This partnership is a testament to our commitment to building stronger, more vibrant rural communities.
