Sobaski earned American Rivers Conference men's cross country runner of the week honors.

The Wartburg College men started the season ranked No. 2 in the nation in NCAA Division III (by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association). The Knights showed their Division I competition at the Redbird Invitational in Normal, IL, why they own that lofty ranking. Wartburg topped Division I programs Illinois State, Southeast Missouri and Northern Iowa on the Weibring Golf Course Sept. 12 and leads off this edition of the WEEKEND UPDATE of the best performances by Iowa-based collegiate and postcollegiate distance runners and triathletes.
