Mike’s Italian Kitchen, the most recent incarnation of the popular Nashua restaurant founded as Michael Timothy’s around 30 years ago, is scheduled to close on Saturday, Oct. 4, according to owner Mike Buckley.

Buckley officially announced the closure in a social media post several days ago, calling the decision “a difficult choice” but leaving open the possibility that he may decide to “reconceptualize” the eatery “or find an operator to fill the space in the future.”

He added that he will “take the appropriate time to decide” what path the future of the eatery takes. Meanwhile, he said, the focus will be on “expanding our Buckley’s Market Café concept in downtown Portsmouth.”

The restaurant is one of eight that Buckley owns and operates under the corporate name Michael Timothy’s Dinin
